Top 10 in P-Town: Places to Eat, Get Lost, & Be Found
October 11, 2024
Top 10 places to eat:
1. Ross Grill: The Shrimp Po'Boy was yummy and an easy tuck into when shopping.
- Provincetown Brewing Company: Very uncharacteristically of me, I grabbed a beer flight and Bearded Mistress beer battered fish for lunch. What's to love: Super dog friendly patio (while I was there, they were hosting the cutest dog parade/show), free doggy kisses, umbrellas that provided shady outdoor tables, and casual indoor seating.
- The Canteen: Vegetarian salad and an A+ lobster roll... on the beach. Need I say more!?!
- Post Office Cafe and Cabaret: For 50 years, this building has been serving up entertainment and this show will leave you smiling from ear to ear. In between, I stuffed that smile with some sweet Jamaican Dynamite Cauliflower and Jerk Chicken. I wanted to try the Lobster Mac n Cheese and the Coconut & Strawberry cake but alas, there was no room. If I had gone back for breakfast, their eggs benedict had people talking on the streets.
- Rosie's Mexican Cantina: Chicken Enchiladas and lots of laughter.
- Pepe's Wharf: Make reservations, if possible. I wasn't impressed with the clam chowder, but when the scallops (fresh that day) and jumbo shrimp with cauliflower puree touched my mouth, I moaned. It was so flavorful, crispy, and melted in my mouth. The service was fantastic. Also, guess who I ran into there!?! PAM!
- Mac's Seafood: Fun atmosphere, fresh crab and lobster, a bit off from Commercial Street but I found the bartender and locals to be delightful.
- Cafe Maria: stopped in for Ice cream and on another day, iced tea and a sandwich. They are right on the water so it's fun to grab something and eat it on the beach or in front at their cute little tables.
- Kohi Coffee Company: When the evening breeze kicked in, I ordered a hot chai and sat inside the cozy and comfy shop. Music, clean bathrooms and an attentive owner made this visit top-notch.
- LOBSTER POT! I saved my favorite for last! The picture says it all. Lobster rolls just the way I like 'em: warm Connecticut style, crunchy buttered roll with enormous fresh chunks of lobster. There are two locations, one is a fancy sit-down, and the other is an express with tables outside to sit on. Both are on the ocean on Commercial Street.
Top places to sweet:
I have a real sweet tooth and P-Town did not disappoint!
- Joe Coffee: A cinnamon roll and coffee that is hot and locally sourced. Heartthrob.
- Provincetown Portuguese Bakery: Yum. The Pastel de Nata and eclair were... delish!
- Cafe Heaven: The name speaks for itself. The granola and fresh squeezed orange juice is to die for.
